Children's Gastroliver Center (CGC) has added two small but meaningful upgrades to the clinic: a dedicated nursing zone for breastfeeding mothers, and a rocking toy for our patients aged 2 to 6. Both changes were made with one goal — making every visit a little more comfortable for the whole family.
A private space for breastfeeding mothers
Many of our patients are infants who need to be fed during a visit, sometimes right before or after seeing the doctor. Until now, mothers had to manage this in the open waiting area.
We've now set up a private, curtained nursing corner within the clinic, available throughout our regular clinic hours. Mothers can feed their babies here in privacy and comfort, without needing to step outside or wait until they get home.
Rocking toys for our young patients
Waiting rooms can be a difficult place for a young child, especially one who is unwell or anxious about a doctor's visit. To make that wait easier, we've added rocking toys to the play area for children between 2 and 6 years old.
A calmer, happier child in the waiting room usually means a calmer consultation too — which is better for the child, the parent, and the visit overall.
A note from Dr. Rafia Rashid
Dr. Rafia Rashid is a pediatrician and pediatric gastroenterologist (FCPS, Pediatrics; FCPS, Pediatric Gastroenterology & Nutrition) with over 18 years of experience, and Assistant Professor at Bangladesh Shishu Hospital & Institute. At CGC, we believe good care isn't only about the consultation itself — it's also about how a family experiences the whole visit, from the moment they walk in.
On your next visit, feel free to ask any of our staff to show you the nursing corner — it's part of making your visit easier, not just your child's.
